Christian Concert Series Coming to Cypress Gardens
Cypress Gardens, FL - An uplifting concert series is taking place at the Gardens Saturday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. There will be performances by Jars of Clay, Building 429 and Need to Breathe, all three popular Christian groups. Admission to the concert is included in regular park admission so guests are encourage to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the Christian music bands. Grammy Award winning Christian rock band, Jars of Clay (Dan Haseltine, Charlie Lowell, Stephen Mason, and Matt Odmark), kicked off their musical career in 1995 with the release of "Flood" and "Liquid." By 1999 the band had released a third album, "If I Left the Zoo" and earned two Grammy Awards. Jars of Clay received a third Grammy Award in 2002 for their fourth album, "The Eleventh Hour." To couple with three Grammy Awards, 17 No. 1 radio hits and numerous other musical honors, Jars of Clay takes an active role in raising money and awareness for the poverty and AIDS stricken areas in Africa.
Jason Roy formed Building 429 while he was still attending college. Roy is the bands primary songsmith and frontman joined by Michael Anderson (drums), and Jesse Garcia (keys, guitar). Building 429’s first record-breaking single, "Glory Defined," topped eight charts and earned BMI's Christian Song of the Year. The band is also a recipient of the Dove Award for New Artist of the Year. In their latest album, "Iris to Iris," Building 429 is taking the focus off of them and putting it onto God. The album has eleven heart-felt songs on it that are sure to uplift the soul. Songs on "Iris to Iris" include: "You Carried Me;" "Constant;" and "Power of Your Name."
The southern Christian rock band, Need to Breathe, has released its second album "The Heat" which includes the acoustic-tinged song "Again" and rejoiceful "Signature of Divine
(Yahweh)." "The Heat" was co-produced the band alongside Rick Beato (Shinedown, Jump Little Children) and Ed Roland (Collective Soul). Need to Breathe includes band members: Bear Rinehart on vocals, guitar and piano; Bo Rinehart on guitar and backing vocals; Seth Bolt on bass and backing vocals; and Joe Stillwell on drums. After signing with Atlantic in 2006, Need to Breathe headed to the UK to debut their first album, "Daylight," with British producer Andy Greene.
